Primaris lore was not good ESL-kun, their introduction was ass and GW recognized that by pulling back on some things they initially went all in on (especially chapter specific shit like Unforgiven response and Blood Angels) to give the decision time to grow legs. Mk10 is very nice though I'll give you that. Needs more helmet variety for tacticus but they're rectifying that.

Why does Mk10 have schynbalds like MkIII instead of an encompassing greave like the other marks? Why would they only up armor the shins?

They fixed it up pretty nicely. Chapters making their own and the gene/character faults of the progeny coming back made it feel less like a thing being replaced and more like the thing being upgraded and they backtracked on the baffling shit like Dark Angels stuff. My only complaints now is that I don't like the new transport option visually, and I would like to make ersatz tacticus tactical squads by adding a sixth man with either a hellblaster, the new flamer, or a grav weapon to intercessor squads. Which is a really, really niche tabletop complaint that doesn't really matter and they fight like that when necessary in the lore anyway.

You can give it to the champion, I think it'd be more fitting as the champion gets to carry the icon etc.
For the Daemon Prince, you can actually try to magnetize the wings so you get to play with both variants but it might be a challenge as you're just starting the hobby.

Alright, Champion it is. As for the Daemon Prince I considered it, thanks for the video I'll watch it but I'll probably be getting another Combat Patrol when I finish this one so I might just build one without wings with a sword and one with wings and an axe like a mini Bloodthirster. I'm not a big fan of magnets from what I saw. I watched some battle report with magnetized Knights and it was a mess, their guns kept falling off.

Magnets are good, I did it for my Ridgerunner so I can equip all the weapon options and whatnot. The rules are temporary, but so are my loadouts. Also magnets are good for carrying stuff, just put some 6x2mm ones under your guys, get a metal biscuit box and you can carry your lads with ease.

Like I've said it can be intimidating for a beginner and you'll need to order specific magnets, green stuff and whatnot. I'm fairly new as well, just started out last year. I fucked up the polarity of the magnet so I had to carve it out and re-attach it and it wasn't a fun experience. Just go for the on-foot variant this time and if you get a 2nd one, it can be a project to work on.

not really. yaegirs and hearthkyn are cheap-ish, but still like 10ppm, not 5-8ppm which is true horde territory, and their unit sizes are quite small capping out at 10 and often splitting into 5s, so they dont play like big hordes of guys either. those cheap infantry also dont do much of the heavy lifting, they are just for grabbing a few objectives and early game zoning. they dont have good support characters or strats for their units.

votann is still mostly about its 20-30ppm elite infantry, bikes and its vehicles, and while they are somewhat cheaper (a hearthguard is cheaper than a terminator) they are still in the realm of a mostly elite army, but on the low end, budget elite.

they have neither the tools, unit sizes, or points costs, to allow them to actually horde like nids, orks, or guard.

Drybrushing is a key technique you should have on your tool belt unless youre doing one of these 4:

1) Painting borderlands style black lining
2) 'eavy metal style
3) slapchop or washes
4) nearly full NMM or airbrushed armor with reflections

Brush a little off on your hand or a bit of tissue paper or something before going for the model, you can check how heavy with paint the brush is like that. Don't have to guess if you can just try it and see it.

Hopefully it's just a shorter term symptom from surgery trauma, weird stuff happens when your body reacts to being operated on. Even if it's permanent, you can still build and paint, it would just take some time to adjust. I used to have a neighbor that lost all but the nubs of his thumb and index finger on his right hand in a machining accident, but afterwards he had a 28 year career as a freehand lettering & signage painter. He would grip the brushes between his thumb nub and the bit of your palm under the first knuckle and then wrap a leather cord around it to keep it secured. He used to tell me you just learn to paint totally with your wrist. Point is, you can adapt to damn near anything.
