Because it's a deeper problem with US cars as a whole, everything is a giant bloated SUV or faggy pickup truck. Also since car manufacturers love making everything proprietary you can't get aftermarket batteries for most older EVs.

>Unironically there was a truck maker in Canada that was doing neat shit with diesel generator hybrid trucks,
I've seen that, it's basically how modern diesel locomotives work. Pretty neat stuff imo.

only good point, and a lot of it comes from not having a unified standard for batteries and being unable to use aftermarket ones.

Sodium-ion batteries are interesting too, they have less capacity but are much cheaper to make and don't catch fire as you said.

I used to browse an off-topic forum called The Flood. /b/ would raid it constantly and I was curious what /b/ was so I eventually found 4chan. I was 11 years old. I'm 27 now.

Hello anons, I'm looking for advice. I'm an American teacher looking to move to Asia for a few years. I have a teaching position offered to me at an international school in the north paying about 33k RMB monthly. Originally, I was planning on moving to Taiwan, which I also have a job offer for, but this mainland school pays nearly double. I rarely spend money but I do plan on going back to university when I am older so it's a consideration. I'm wondering if anyone who has visited/lived in both China and Taiwan could attest to which would be better for someone to live in who has never been to Asia before. While it might seem like a small detail I'm a big animal lover and would love to adopt dogs when I move abroad, and I've heard that can be an issue in China. Any pointers would be appreciated.
