Yeah this part is still in the vanilla game, you can give Jeanette the pendant and still have them reconcile. But it's easier to get in the UP since reconciliation was made easier in it for some reason. The quest log keeps that quest as failed though.

I always hated the UP letting you keep Heather and her staying alive. Totally takes the bite out of it and lets you basically keep her as a drug slave forever with no consequences. I'm not sure if that's in the basic version or only plus but I don't think it belongs in either.
