To give everyone the American quality of life would require 5 earths of resources.

It's less "billions must die" and more "shit, billions are going to die".
The standard of living that Americans have is beyond the reach of billions, but they won't simply give up. They'll devour their nations from the inside out fighting over who gets to be middle class.
Meanwhile the U.S. and E.U. sol will slowly decrease and the world will eventually stabilize at a level that no one will be content with.

A return to high hopes for the future requires many nuclear power plants. But first something must be done about the poor leadership which got us to this shitfest.

H-1b is a trade surplus for the U.S.
Jeets provide many times over more value to American businesses than what they send home (if they even do that).
Sillicon valley gets to skim the best engineers from every other nation, it is undoubtedly good for them.

It's really fucking grim for me though, an average U.S. citizen with skills applicable to the tech industry.
Everyone has been sending remote jobs overseas for a while, now they want to import hundreds of those of engineers from nations where wages are significantly lower. This drives down salaries in the U.S. and displaces workers who can't compete internationally.
It is looking overwhelmingly grim for U.S. citizens because our economy has drifted so far from manufacturing and into services which are now done by remote workers overseas and being automated.

The choice is obvious for politicians, import more jeets! Just gotta keep their constituents entertained and fed so we don't notice the American worker is being obsoleted.
