really would've preferred if paru just stuck to the group being strictly santa hunters like the name implies. would've been totally fine to still incorporate the other descendants too but in more of a "you're standing between us and santa so we have to kill you too" sort of way.
where she really jumped the gun was daddy's ambitions, i totally thought that the red coats were going to lean into how santa is really the only "deity" that children all across japan would heavily want to believe in/worship due to its childlike benefits, but obviously the adults relying on those children being the future of their country wouldn't want them to lose motivation or be distracted from the strict mindset implanted into them at these boarding schools. like maybe they were being funded by japanese politicians to keep up the lie that santa doesn't exist
instead, the leader is just some priest dude who thinks none of the pagan gods should exist in this world along with a gang of worshippers who get high off the salt emmited off of his body
