I think Changeling must've been a major influence on Ringu, and Ringu is a good choice. Prefer it over the American remake.

Take your pick among those ghost story adaptations. Began in 1971. Top notch stuff. The Signalman (1976) is a little masterpiece but there's quite a bunch there that are rather scary. The original short stories are spectacular, naturally.
