He's close to it. But I still think Yamato is hands down the worst character in the series.
He's just so fucking boring and uninteresting, and he sticks around the main cast for such a long time even though he really doesn't need to exist. Same with Sai, though at least he more or less has his own character arc.
I can at least laugh at how much of a retarded scapegoat Danzo is, but Yamato is just a much shittier Kakashi whose role could've easily been given to an already existing character.
