Okay guys, I'm considering two options for my telecaster and am wondering what the better move is. I own a 59 custom shop telecaster, it's awesome and I am considering throwing some considerable money down on it for a stainless steel refret and plek job. I also have a set of titanium Gotoh compensated saddles as well as locking tuners I want to put on them. It already sounds amazing, I mostly just want it to be as playable and reliable as possible. However, doing a stainless steel refret and plek on the fret board at my local guitar shop is $600. As an alternative, I have about $1500 of expendable cash to use on guitar gear right now and I am wondering if it would just be a better move to trade in that tele and instead buy an off the shelf Suhr Classic T. Been reading a lot about these guitars and it kind of seems like they are just super reliable with objectively better modern features. Apparently most of their guitars' standard build includes the plek'd stainless steel frets, locking tuners, compound fretboard radius, roasted maple neck, etc.. I recently played one of their strats at a local guitarshop and I really dug their neck profile, and the finish on the neck felt right. Thoughts? Are Suhrs actually the real deal or are they just overhyped?
