I'm also at Reactors and it's falling off a bit, but Carbon Pickaxe combined with the running attack perk from Blunt has been very strong. I can one tap any resource node or crate, one tap most mooks/rats with headshots, twotap the Gate mooks, and still do decent damage to the big bastards. The sprinting precondition for the super swing doesn't take more than a second to prepare

In the recipe yes, but in the minigame to figure out a recipe, no. You can "see" carbon plating as an example in the crafting minigames before you ever go into the mycofields.
