Most likely scenario: Steven Anderson appeared on the radar of many Americans who already put their faith in Christ as a child. When they were children, they did not complicate their theology with works, and earnestly believed Jesus was God and died for our sins (and were already saved). You claim he has reached "hundreds of millions", yet after 20 years of ministry there are only a handful of churches affiliated with him and likely less than 1000 members in the entire movement.
