Pretty much yeah, it's nothing concrete, since basically the way they handled Finn x HW was in a very casual noncommittal way, just confirming they like each other and letting them kiss multiple times but without ever actually making them an official couple.
Like you said, nothing really was ever confirmed, but last time we heard of them was in the Fionna and Cake series where Finn mentions her multiple times and goes to her house at the very end, so they're at least still close.
