I'm against all of the PC crap, sterilizing everything for Western mass-consumption, etc... My feeling is that people want to re-write history in order to make it "pure," somehow, because this makes them feel better about their fashion choices. You are so right. Gyaru is, unequivocally, a perversion of Western fashion trends of the time by Eastern women, which makes it even funnier because the uninformed in this thread are trying to pervert a perversion, whilst ignoring the intentions of its original basis, and whilst simultaneously claiming (falsely) that the perversion has always conformed to their contemporary moral standards for fashion, despite having no knowledge of that time in history, at all. This is in all spite of the fact that, actually, in actuality, it was never that way, and it should never be that way, because the idea of achieving some feminist ideal is the total antithesis of the original fashion style's intention.
