in the end, the father WAS enjoying making his own stuff. (with his kid) HE was the one to be changed by the hero's journey. the kid knew what he was doing the whole time.
the audience is meant to identify with the father, not the kid. it's such a twist. like, Star Wars being about Darth Vader's journey all along b-but Vader was the villain? Oh, that's what you thought? Lego did that all in one movie.
Lego probably could have made one more round of sets though. there were a few things they missed. Lego should have gone the extra step and sold real-life (not Lego version) cat posters
