That's silly, it is not that they didn't take a cut from merch: they clearly did.
But there is a caveat: they would only take a cut from merch they self produced (as opposed to the merch the girls would produce themselves) and the old girls were not dumb enough to produce through VShojo when they could simply contact the manufacturer and do it themselves.

Now, when Matara (likely on a new and different contract) went that route, she got unceremoniously fired, which likely indicate VShojo was trying to turn the ship around.
It doesn't help that VShojo either scammed or got scammed by their OG merch supplier and then outright scammed their every new partner in the past 12 months or so
>while scamming their talent at the same time
It's dumb as fuck and the reason for that is that GunRun created the company from the perspective of a Hololive fan
>IF I HAD A COMPANY I WOULD GIVE MY OSHI EVERYTHING SHE WANTED, WOULD LET HER DO ANYTHING SHE WANTED AND WOULDN'T CHARGE HER FOR A THING!
As it turns out that's not sustainable and the best way to help your oshi if you ever find yourself in this situation is to create a sustainable business around her so she can be happy while you take care of the bureaucracy AND make enough money for the structure to survive

I maintain, this makes no fucking sense
>K9Kuro confirms that VShojo only paid him LAST MONTH for Merch from his Debut.
>His Debut was 2 Years ago.
then
>"u guys remember when i debuted in 2023, i sold a bunch of merch, like the shirt, acrylic stand.. my debut merch in 2023."
>"I got paid for that IN JUNE 11TH. THIS YEAR. i got paid for that merch two years ago, LAST MONTH. that is a fact. maiko helped."
This does not make any sense, if ALL of them were getting swindled, how come they are all feigning surprise at the turn of events?
