I'm the anon who has been criticizing this game in every thread since its release, and even so, I think it's worth it. The price is more than fair.
However, you need to have a good idea of what you're getting yourself into. It's a collection of indie games made by indie developers. It's not a collection that simulates the past, it's a collection of modern games. You know how Shovelknight uses a NES color pallete to look old? It's basically the same thing here, the effort to look like an old game is only superficial.
For some, this is a good thing, as old games have some issues that often make them annoying. But for me, it takes away some of the charm of the collection.
Finally, virtually all of the games are quite shallow in terms of gameplay. To give an example, a single "real" arcade-style game, such as Tetris Grandmaster 4, alone has more depth than the entire UFO collection. I've played TGM4 twice as long as I've played UFO 50, and I still feel like I'm slowly improving at the game because the skill ceiling is just huge. There's nothing like that in UFO50.
