I think his youthfulness was also a big factor in why I wasn't so keen on his original design. The new design definitely looks more mature, in a good way.

I'm not a fan of Charlastor either. If it becomes canon I can probably come to terms with it as long as he's happy, but it will be hard. I just don't see it ending well for him.
