I do this and add dots until I clayshaped the rough circle into place, then use my good stroke directions and follow my markings, (not in one go circle is usually a handful of lines) turn the canvas when you draw in directions that are unfavorable to your hand movement.

same for ellipses, drawing it in one go makes you lose control having some guiding markings is a huge help.

being able to draw perfect circles is overrated imo, being able to get 80-90% there is enough, just erease the lines that overshoot lmao
