she was too awesome for modern blizzard, can't have a lovely female protagonist that fans like so they butchered her in BFA. well, that and the fact they know WoD flopped so they abandoned the plot line they left with what velen said at the end of it and made the au draenei suddenly evil to wipe their hands clean of following up on it and to justify a half baked ailed race.
pretty sure the hots lines were just jokes about WoD failing or how they know WoW devs will never do anything with au draenor after the fact
