>That's so strange that cash costs more for you. What country are you in?
NTA but i have seen a lot of that in the U.S. lots of places have been trying to phase out cash and even when they do accept it they will often hassle you about it (staff will tell you you're required to go to order at a card only kiosk, then make you call for help to get someone to show up that will take cash, then it causes a big scene and line and everyone is pissed so it basically devolves into an attempt to try to socially shame you for using cash). I've stopped going to many places over it. Cashiers also personally hate cash and it seems like a lot of them do not know how to count anymore.
I travel a lot for work and most airports I got to will not take cash anywhere, none of the stores, restaurants or vending machines. I get stuck there for half the day a lot of times searching the whole place and it is impossible to even buy a soda without a card or phone. I do have a debit card but won't use it unless i'm basically in legitimate danger of death.
Same goes for smartphones they try to force you to tie your ID, apps, wallet, accounts, appointments basically every aspect of life to your phone. Why the fuck would I want to do that? Then if my battery dies or I drop it i'm basically instantly a hobo. Don't know how normies live like that.
