Okay couple of things, have you looked inside or seen a good cross section of the three position cassette style FRT? Is the lever shorter? I believe for original two position cassette FRT designs the lever which forced the reset was in fact just the hammer itself, so big chonking piece of steel. I do agree that the Atrius lever needs to be improved on, precisely in the area of strength, by way of a combination of material and geometry.
