Schlammkreide works better for this on gear and rifles.
Take calcium carbonate (white chalk), mix with acrylic paint until it has the consistency of greek yogurt. It will come out a bit lighter than the base paint input. If too thick add water, if too thin add more chalk, if too light add more paint.
Apply with a moistened brush and be generous
Allow entire thing to aircure for a couple hours
Then handle vigorously once dry to the touch, some wear is expected
End result is a chalk paint that handles NIR well, is easily applied and can be removed with water+nylon brush. Good if you wanted to snow/fall paint an otherwise 3 season schema on some gear or rifles. It will gradually wear off as you use the gun/gear and by the end of the season you just hose it off and brush any that remains.
