>And my counterpoint is you are only focusing on power upgrades
i maxed out defense and sp regen perks to keep racing going as long as possible, also going straight for max level suspension and tires. i didn't buy any power upgrades until i actually needed them, or any attack perks at all. obviously that wouldn't be any fun.
>people in Gran Turismo always prioritize buying new cars instead of dumping every last penny they have in their starter car.
no? you usually win a better car before you can buy it.
the a70 supra in gt2 for example can basically stomp the whole game aside from a few races with too low power limits, and you get that sucker out of the used dealer day 1
>And no, I haven't been a "turd" and grinded the same opponent
yes but you intentionally picked the rx8 which was overpowered in EA, even in the chapter it's first available in, so again by going out of your way to break the game you broke the game which is exactly what i said you could do. or not because you aren't even out of the easy stuff yet, really. once you actually get some faster opponents past chapter 2 it's way nicer to go "oh yeah i can beat this fucker with a turbo" rather than being cucked by progression and just hoping they crash so you can get on with it.
i will never ever play on cuck mode
