By the time I started posting Mesoamerican stuff, other people had already posted painted Hindu temples, and someone already posted Mesoamerican and Andean realistic sculptures. It was already "derailed", and I'd argue it was never really a thread just about the Roman's painted art so much as historical art and architecture that was originally painted anyways

Anyways if you find it that disruptive, >>18131686 will have to tell me if they want more examples of revivalist or replica Mesoamerican stuff that has paint: I was going to post some replicas of Teotihuacano murals (and a pyramid facade) in the Museo Nacional de Antropologia and in some in on-site museums at Teotihuacan

The finish isn't as smooth as it would have been, it's still a little overly matte and not as glossy (and lacks the metallic flakes some mesoamerrican paints had mixed in), but it's not nearly as bad as your poor roman example there, or the painted replicas of aztec stuff the Museo del Templo Mayor has
