The reason this issue is so specifically aimed at gaming as a hobby is because gamers are one of the least likely hobbyists to not have other hobbies, or just other things going on in their lives to distract them.
In other words, without a family, a job, or even a second hobby, gaming has to carry the entire burden of being the thing that gives your life meaning and joy.
And gaming could never do that, not really. It has to be something supplementary, not the whole.
This isn't someone trying to convince you to be yourself to get laid or some shit. I'm telling you to find inner peace. Learn to love yourself and you won't need gaming's escapist crutch so desperately. It might lead you to better things, it might not. But wherever you end up, you'll be better for having explored yourself, your interests, your drives, your passions. Because there's nothing quite as sad as realizing your life was yours to live when it's already too late.
