I disagree. In my many years of experience (mostly useless), I've learned that if I'm brooding over something, there's a good chance hundreds of other people are, too. I'm not that special.
Once we get over the wow of consumerist technology, we will slowly crawl back to soul, and let our own souls express themselves in media again, now much more affordable.
The fact that I can type this post on Windows XP, have access to an LLM, spell checking, and a handful of other amenities that we tend to think are a byproduct of having to bear with Windows 11 is a testament to that. We DON'T need to bear with Windows 11, or any other enshittified modern piece of crap. The software problem was solved ages ago, and we just added useless layers on top in order to make profit for corporations that are as fragile as they are huge. All it takes is for silicon chip manufacturing to survive the bursting of the mother of all bubbles (late-stage capitalistm), and we can refocus. Taking advantage of everything we learned along the way, and discarding the rest.
