Though war may wage to the North, the Listeners are ever diligent in their operations. House Nelyth, Keepers of The Lake, and House Vaelith, Warriors of the Host, both prepare for the worst, seeing to the improved defenses of settlements across the divided kingdom. House Yros is set to study the newest materials found to the western branch of Oltartown, identifying what portents may lay in anticipation to their schemes, meanwhile House Morcair begins the process of blending spore-kind with human-kind, studying the culture and traditions of those many Listeners will now share settlements and even homes with. All of these plans require but one thing: Safe transport and communication! It is this, that The Makers shall deliver.

Keen to the delicate relationship and protective nature of the Magnolopes in the Elderwood forests that surround Oltartown, great tact is taken in the collection of Elderwood. Its regenerative nature is far too valuable not to bring home, but respect must be given to the ancient marriage of these two species. The deceptively small and delicate acorns of these trees are collected from the leaf litter that blankets the glades, and planted in Substrate soil. Here, though tough enough to support the tree's growth, is beholden to the will of the hyphae, and those who control it. The Spore farmers delicately form this recipe of substrate mix, just enough to support the trees growth, and just enough to will the mycelium to unbind and let loose as chitterlings pull and unroot the ripe wood for collection. Though slow, planting forests of these trees will ultimately result in enough to supply the entirety of The Whisper's Listeners with impenetrable defenses.
