So you mean finishing green early level quests. I guess that's doable but also boring and slow-progressing. I mean the selling point of Classic was/is supposed to be group activities and the necessity of forming groups to beat quests (particularily elites).
You can't actually level solo in Classic with the same efficiency that you can in later expansions.

So finding a guild and a group to level is mandatory to level quickly. Any way you slice it.
