If it drops off the actual Deathlord (and not the final boss) then it's the fastest dungeon mount farm because you can enter the back portal, run down a hallway then you're there.

RFC isn't that hard but it is a bit of trouble with how mob placement there can easily lead to double pulls so as long as the tank or whoever pulls the mobs back a bit and positions them then it's doable

HFQ is like 10x harder than ZF. I get that HFQ is a bit higher level range, but I am able to solo all of ZF on my hunter, mostly without kiting. Whereas in HFQ I can't take on more than 2 of the entrance mobs at a time without almost dying and having to kite. And of course Gilneas. The trash packs are harder than most of the mobs in ZF, and it's slightly lower level. I can still solo gilneas, but I have to be much more cautious than with ZF. Not sure about CG as I have only done it on my 60 and never at the appropriate level range, but it still seemed harder than it should have been for mid-30s mobs.

This is not a ranked game, this is a funserver for fucking around, the most optimal way to level up is to literally ignore all the quests past level 10 and run around in circles killing mobs with tent XP boost, that's not how you should engage the game in your position.
As long as you get ~one level a day, you'll be up to date for when the first two raids are current content.

All the entry lvl 60 content is actively being cleared, theres so many people starting new characters that you'll always find people that need to do the same shit you do. The population is fairly evenly distributed from lvl 1 to kara40 raiders

I did this once as a prot warrior. I spammed dungeons so much that I developed a minor reputation as a decent tank and had randoms and old acquaintances whispering me constantly to run more. I had to practically swat away the ginvites.

Not going to lie, played a character to 20, its quite janky.
You can't even jump inside of caves or buildings without getting teleported out half the time.
Warrior charge is just broken, sometimes it doesn't stun (not even resisted), or the stun is WAY faster than 1.5 seconds, etc.

Just a lot of weird shit, they've been deploying hotfixes constantly. I'm genuinely thinking of jumping over to ambershire. I'll come back to epoch in a month or two. Dutch did say a few days prior to launch that something was "aggressively wrong" with epoch's core, and thats becoming more and more apparent as people play and run into fucked up shit.

Its easily the buggiest pserver launch I've seen.

Hm... I find the Dun Morogh area cozier and I really like the Gnomeregan custom zone. But dwarf animations are not so nice to look at I find. Especially melee animations are not so nice.
On the other side human has the Elwynn forest which is also a comfy area and humans kind of have this more grounded perspective on the fantasy world they inhabit. Up to you I'd say but I've been thinking about maybe making a dwarf after listening to Durin's song on the radio.

I did Dragonmaw and it was quite a slog. This team has an issue with pacing and oversized but still linear dungeon design. Gilneas City was way better than this.

Yeah, it has a lot of issues. I'm on the same boat, I played Turtle a long time ago and had fun leveling 3 diff. characters to 60 and doing some raids and all but I eventually got burnt out and quit. I saw Epoch launch being really popular so I went over to try it but it just didn't click for me with all the bugs and issues. I have faith in the team and I think Dutch and the Ascension people are doing a good job fixing it up but I went over to the new Turtle realm for the time being. I hope Epoch survives this and thrives 6~ months down the line when everything's cleared up and all. Only time will tell.

It sure did take a while to solo through hitting every boss once. I can't imagine how long it would be with a group needing to pull more and be careful and drink regularly. There's no back portal either for this dungeon like there is for Stormwrought. An alternate entrance is visible on the map (for Dragonmaw) after the final boss but the path is gated long before you get to it.

Bros I'm a pretty casual wow player and I'm struggling to play turtle. And that's not to do with the server itself, but Classic's mindset as a whole. Classic/vanilla is damn nigh-unplayable if you're going solo, or at the very least struggling and nerve-wracking. You die constantly. Hell, it's difficult even if you're in a group of 2 or 3. If the levelling takes me so long to get to 60 (which is where the real game begins), then I'm gonna hate the game.
And the thing is that I realize that the 4chan turtle guild is defunct and I'd have to find a guild of my own. Problem is where to look.

I think I'm starting to realize the retail mindset of easier and more automated early content/leveling now. Ain't nobody got time to struggle killing the gnoll hordes and camps on Redridge for example. I'm seriously considering going back to Pandaland more proper now since Legion.

Sorry for the long post. Maybe I should post this on reddit in hopes of some guild taking notice? I'm at my limit here of dropping Classic for good.

You can get full quest exp for quests up to 25 levels below you. And you shouldn't be aiming to knock out yellow/orange quests right away. Leveling is easy because you /don't/ need a group to be efficient, like in Everquest. You travel from hub to hub questing.

So you mean finishing green early level quests. I guess that's doable but also boring and slow-progressing. I mean the selling point of Classic was/is supposed to be group activities and the necessity of forming groups to beat quests (particularily elites).
You can't actually level solo in Classic with the same efficiency that you can in later expansions.

2h tanking is mostly for warriors and even then mostly in regular vanilla, on turtle you can get away with a shield even at low levels. Paladin tanks should always wear shields, later on you get talents that let you shit out even more aggro with a shield equipped.
I'd wait with tanking until you hit 20 though, Consecration is a godsend for aggro.

For the few people from here that were in that Naxx, I'd find a new guild to run with if I were you. Most of the core moved to Epoch and ain't coming back, few others are only left on turtle for a few more weeks.

I've been playing on Ambershire and so far so good. The game feels quite "alive" with hundreds of players everywhere you look. Only the OG 2019 Classic launch beats this.

But man, the ESL are insufferable and you can definitely tell you're playing a f2p game.
You can't complete a dungeon without at least 1 person saying "laaaaaaaaggggg" and DCing, or randomly saying something in spanish/portuguese/french/russian/whatever, then being pissed off that you don't know wtf they're saying.

The client sucks so bad even with all the life support tweaks and mods added to it. I still play a bit of Classic anniv just to check auctions and raidlog, and the game feels so smooth and responsive I almost feel bad for not playing it.

It sucks so bad how blizzard just don't know how to manage their game anymore, but it is what is is. Turtle is the best alternative out there.

Warlocks can't get felhunters because the quest is fucked, rogue poisons don't even work, feral druids aren't scaling in form, hunter pets are like vicious rape machines with the wrath scaling in pvp that completely invalidate pretty much any class instantly.

I'll take this over whatever they're doing at Epoch. And among the announced fixes today, none of them include some of the game breaking class shit.

The player base on Ambershire is literally atrocious. I made an alt because I like levelling, but there's so many retail players and people who act like they've never even played WoW trying to be tanks. I've tried to do the Deadmines and Wailing Caverns 4 times and gotten:
>Shaman tank who doesn't know how to pull (literally wouldn't cast lightning bolt), tremor totem, mark, or LoS
>Fury Warrior "tank" who doesn't watch for patrols, never uses defensive stance, and doesn't know how to LoS
>Hunter ninja pulling even when people are AFK, and ALSO doesn't know how to LoS who then ragequits
>Level 18 paladin "tank" who doesn't have consecration yet and has less health than a priest
I could do these one-shot in HC at 20 and have it be a comfy, efficient experience with some actual stakes, but now Ambershire has basically killed Nordanaar levelling for the next few months. Not to mention all the retards who know nothing about the server treating it like it's vanilla saying warrior levelling sucks or spirit is bad; refusing to share mine nodes for skill ups, etc., etc.
