He was honestly the only good part. Nappa and Cui did nothing, and Vegeta hogged half of the screen time, and he was annoying while doing so.

Since Piccolo, I've also noticed that Kato just doesn't respect the canon villains so far, and movie villains get propped up...
>Tao Pai Pai was ganked and defeated easily
>Red Riboon in general were treated as jokes while King Gurumes got more focus
>King Piccolo was taken out too casually, and he did nothing interesting
>Piccolo is treated like a chuuni kid, while Garlic Jr. is the real threat
>In the Pendulum Room, Maple treats Freeza like a joke and punked him, and when Cooler briefly showed up, he was treated more respectfully
>Vegeta is treated like a joke and written like a TFS character
>Turles is treated seriously, he even got super saiyan and killed Piccolo
The only movie villains who didn't get this benefit are Wheelo, who's the same old, and Slug, who invaded Earth at the same time as Turles and was bizarrely offscreened...

I don't know why Kato decided to have Turles and Slug invade Earth at the same time while still insisting in showing only one point of view, and since Turles got most focus, Slug was worthless... Krillin and 17 being killed offscreen was lame too, and this after a long string of Krillin being sidelined too...
