>Tim is implying that existentialism can be solved by just having children or by being married.
In a big way it does tho for most human beings this is true, parenthood keeps you occupied watching new life develop and struggle in a similar way to what you did so this is meaningful its not the solution for everyone but its a damn good one, the human is wired to be social and to mentor we been doing this for more than 100k Years, so yes we are this kind of animal.
What happened to Hayley is brutal, the whole relationship with Gilbert was a mess in more than one way and she wasted really important youth with him on a relationship that was never gonna go anywhere. Also ofc there is problems as a parent but its the good type of problems that feel like you are meaningfully investing in your legacy & in a relationship with your kids. At the moment most of that seems outta the window for Hayley so she has to seek something else or adoption which is not a bad idea for her, she can raise the next Emo / Punk Rock celebrity easily in 15 years. Thats what she should be doing ideally actually with the rest of her life, that is gonna give her a fuck ton of fulfillment. Hayley might not live on genetically but she will in spirit in this way, ofc its lamer than the biological one because the biological one is also this one but it carries on your genes and features which of course you grow attached to and nostalgic for but whatever as one ages options narrow down and one has to make concessions.
