This is exactly what Other Mom failed to understand about Samus as a character. She would never shy away from power or be reluctant to use it, she consolidates it. And she would never quietly obey.
It all comes back to her namesake.

This is what Samus is. Bounty Hunter. Animal lover. Hero. Woman. She is all of these things... and what she is not is a coward. What she is not is burdened by her past. What she is not, is a subservient, weak person who would allow herself to come to harm at the whims of some jackoff she works for.
The Ridley scene was bad, but to me the rest of her depiction in Other M was a far worse character assassination than her having PTS-fucking-D.
