There's a lot of things that simply do stuff better than Sonic. But at the end of the day, it's the Sonic franchise that I love most. Because deep in my soul, I can see the raw untapped potential that'd make this franchise a gold mine and it could be the greatest thing ever. As an artist, I can't just ignore that kind of possibility I can see clear as day in my head.

So if SEGA can't get it right, then I might as well just do it myself... And I'll do it my way. My own way.
