Playing sonic 1 makes me feel suicidal, like how do you even finish it all in a row without saves?

Well since it's a new thread I wanted to talk about an absolutely bizarre dream I had last night.

I can't remember too many details other than what I focused on in the dream but I was standing over a bed and for some strange reason Tails was lying on it, not particularly in a sexual manner just kind of chilling there but we started talking about...I actually can't remember I think it was about some stupid internet meme or something but eventually I sat on the bed and felt one of his tail rub against me and it was really fluffy so I asked if I could pet and fluff it and he said sure. Eventually I started petting his face and chest and he didn't seem to mind until I realized I was laying on top of him and he smirked at me. The last thing I remember is my hand resting scruffing his chin before I started leaning closer to his face as if I was going to kiss him.

That dream was so bizarre. I'm not gay, I goon to /ss/ sure but that's specifically not gay. What was also strange was that it felt so surreal. I can still remember what his fur felt like and the fact that his breath had a slight tinge of minty freshness to it. Everything was just so fucking bizarre that when I woke up I actually had to mentally recover from how real it felt.

I think I should lay off the weed dudes. Anyway thanks for coming to my tedtalk and reading my blog.

IDW Amy is arguably the best version of Amy, her characterization is perfectly balanced and her dynamic with Sonic is incredible. Ian Flynn did a great job with her on the whole 1 on 1 adventure she had with Sonic!!

I would rework Shadow into the Ultimate Weapon and make him closer to Mega Man. His stories would focus on other characters who are weapons/ tools (Biolizard, Emerl, Omega), what the purpose of a weapon is, and why he was given free will. Ultimately "I am a weapon built to destroy (by GUN), but I have free will, and I choose to protect for peace (for Maria)". I think this fits much better with the franchise themes.

The entire dub cast is fired, the characters are Japanese. If they refuse to do this, the story is going to be that Sonic can't talk anymore for some reason.

Current gameplay direction is generally fine but make all new levels with a similar art direction to Unleashed. Honestly Sonic characters look really good cel shaded so maybe do that again.

If I wanted to do something wildly different it would be like Sonic Adventure format but every character's story would have a completely different art style.

Maybe you got bored of it but I found both of the games fun. GR2 has a lot more things to unlock and the world map is bigger so exploration is more fun and engaging. Just because you didn't like it too much doesn't mean everyone else did. I do wish I got into it sooner before they shut down the servers because I don't think it's possible to unlock all the stuff and get platinum anymore. I haven't played it in a few years.

It would be difficult to build a world around Silver where he can actually do his things with how little has been developed in his future timeline. That said, if you REALLY wanted some kind of justification for Silver having to fly around all over the place you could make another Sonic Generations tie in and have him flying around a void where a bunch of levels are separated and floating in space with the excuse being that because of the Time Eater, time and reality in the future shattered and Silver has to stitch the parts back together. after playing marathonrecomp ive come to the realization that sonic 06 is shit because it doesnt have a chao garden. its so boring. you can only replay stages so many times, you NEED the chao garden to make a fun 3d sonic game, especially in the absence of a "story re-run" option like SA2 due to the hub worlds & side missions getting in the way. even the boost games have this issue. the chao garden is integral to the 3d sonic gameplay loop and without it the game is incomplete.

I feel like bonus stages/emerald challenges/chao stuff are good for gameplay loops. The chao scavenger hunting in Advance 3 is pretty fun and adds replayability to levels. I think the only "boost" games that have stuff like this are Advance 2-3 and Rush. Everything after it primarily focuses on the level itself and replaying the entire level/sections of it again for missions. Frontiers TRIES to bring it back but it's bonuses are just unlocking rails to go around islands easier. No real optional side stuff to do or invest into for fun and it's partially due to emeralds now being rewarded for beating a level for story reasons and not something you have a chance to earn yourself along the way.

Mario is originally Popeye, and Donkey Kong was his Bluto first before Wario was created as another Bluto more directly tied to Mario as the Popeye. As Mario became Nintendo's mascot and "Mr. Video Game", Mario became more and more Mickey-like. But not the true Mickey.

Mickey had his original traits removed so that he could be a better role model for the kids watching. His edgy, "bad" side was given to Donald so that Mickey looks like a good boy by comparison. His silly, foolish side was given to Goofy so that Mickey looks like the smart one by comparison. That is the version of "Mickey" that Mario embodies.

But Sonic is the original Mickey. The one who has the Donald side and the Goofy side. Sonic's rebellious side, his impatience and short temper, are the Donald side. Sonic's carefree side, detached from all worldly concerns and simply going with the flow, is the Goofy side. And both meld together perfectly as someone who embodies freedom, in such a way that he's a better role model than what Mickey and even Mario was artificially molded to be.

Crash is Goofy, extrapolated from Sonic. Focusing too much on making a wacky, looney tuney cartoon mascot who is wild and silly. Crash is named "Crash", implying that he's always just crashing into things, and spins like the Tasmanian Devil which also directly works as a different "spin" on Sonic. But overall, he's JUST the carefree side of Sonic, to the point that he's just a crazy foolish nutcase who rarely speaks (if at all).

Which means that there must also exist a "Donald", who embodies all the edgier qualities of Sonic without the sillier, foolish or carefree sides. Just all the sharp edges of Sonic and his "bad boy" attitude cranked up to eleven, as a direct foil to Crash. But I can't think of who that'd be, without painting it as Shadow because that's not the same thing.

I feel like I should explain my train of thought here. Basically...

Sonic = Mickey, so what if the Rock Band are like other Mickey-related characters. The rabbit (Mach) could be combined with the prototype concept rabbit and that could be Oswald. Sharps could be Donald, Max could be Goofy, and I suppose Vector could be Pete. The fact that he's a big and dragon-like is comparable to Bowser, so it works well enough despite Vector being very much a good-natured and kind guy.

Mario = Popeye = Superman = Knuckles, and that was already my mindset before the DC crossover happened. So, what would be a template for an entire cast of characters for my Knuckles character, using any of these as the basis? Mario's cast doesn't work, Peach and Luigi are just Amy and Tails. Superman also doesn't work for the same reason, and the "Super Family" also doesn't resonate well enough in my head. Then I started thinking Mario + DK = Popeye + Bluto, so how could I stretch that farther? Well, Mario and DK are both part of the larger group that is the base Smash roster, and something about that works in my head. That way I can theme the Knuckles "group" around different kinds of FIGHTERS. And all I'd have to cut out is Kirby, because I tie him to my Amy-inspired character for .... reasons, and Yoshi for similar reasons, and either Link or Pikachu because either one could be correlated with my own self-insert depending on how I look at it. But Link is more of the same "archetype" I associate with myself, so Pikachu stays in the group.

From there, I just connected each Smash fighter to a Sonic character. Mario to Knuckles, DK to Storm, Samus to Shade, and ... Fox to Espio, and Pikachu to Charmy I guess...? But I need to think it through a lot farther.

They want to have a lasting impact on the Sonic franchise, but since they're shit they can't do that through making a genuinely good and memorable story. So instead, they're trying to have a lasting impact by attaching their OCs to one of the most major characters in the franchise.
These are people who, in a literal sense, do not care about the SegaSonic game universe. They never have. If they were normal fans posting on here they'd be the type of person who shits on "Windnic" and "Windfags" because their idea of Sonic is antithetical to how the original creators viewed Sonic. If they weren't forced by Sega to comply somewhat with existing canon, they wouldn't even try.
