The game feels like if Xenoblade X focused entirely on being a mech game instead of the xenoblade combat. It's pretty obvious the power armor change was purely to fix the scale of the world and make the actual mechs seem way more impressive when you get them.

It's also funny riding a horse or driving a warthog around to conserve fuel since you can burn through it like crazy using special attacks.
