I really really enjoyed this, I uninstalled the switch 2 demo (ran like shit) but got 120-160fps on my PC at max settings. Really enjoyed it just was kind of a short demo.

The game feels like if Xenoblade X focused entirely on being a mech game instead of the xenoblade combat. It's pretty obvious the power armor change was purely to fix the scale of the world and make the actual mechs seem way more impressive when you get them.

It's also funny riding a horse or driving a warthog around to conserve fuel since you can burn through it like crazy using special attacks.

Gundam makes more money now than it has ever since seed ended. AC6 was a big hit. It's more like western mecha is dead, and that's mostly cause they're just not making any. We've got Clans. I don't think many people wanted that. Battletech itself is doing very well, so it's just games and movies.

They made a not-armored core game during the lull when there were no armored core games, and it kind of sucked a bit. Armored core came back in a very big way, and now they're pivoting it to being a power armor anthem-style game. You fly about picking up loot and upgrading your armor. So far it seems better than the first game.

It's incredibly mid, serving as filler work for the guy who designed original AC when he wasn't allowed to work on AC. Designs are cool, but the gameplay in the 1st game is boring. I haven't tried the demo for the sequel yet and I'm not inclined to. Will wait for the full game to release and see what the reception is before I make a decision.

You can summon a real mech to temporarily pilot and functionally the power armor is treated just like a mech. They switched to power armor because it is the only way to make a world that doesn't have retarded scaling since in the first game everything had to be insanely huge to be any kind of threat. Now things dont have to be as huge and when you are in the mech the mech becomes way more impressive since you the same size as shit that was towering over you.

I was apprehensive of the Power armor idea but after playing it I'm pretty hype for it. If they fix the performance issues some anons were having it might be good.

I trust these devs, they took all the criticisms of the first DxM demo and fixed pretty much all the common complaints about it. Even if the game came out disappointing they did try their best and take what people said to heart. That deserves respect.

The dudes who bought distribution rights to macross and turned it into robotech turned out to be absolute slime and started strongarming people over the rights, which gave them a bit of power because the rights at the time were really murky.

Turns out a lot of people were making robots that looked like macross, so they started suing. It took years to slowly untangle the mess and at the end of it all, battletech is clear but they play it safe with mechs appearances now, macross itself is safe, and harmony gold annoyed too many judges so they were dismissed with prejudice. I didn't think much of the first game, I got it for free on EGS, finished the story, and did a few co-op missions before being done with it.
It was honestly pretty shit, like I wouldn't have payed money for it, but it did scratch my mecha itch for a week or two.
I have absolutely zero interest in playing a sequel where you're using a power suit.

The Warhammer (mech being piloted in that video) is essentially a clone of the Destroid Tomahawk from Macross, one of the designs that Battletech thought they secured the rights to from some other toy agency which thought it had the rights to them, it did for toys but not anything else and they then sold a license to Battletech for rights they didn't actually have the rights to. Long story short Battletech didn't have the rights to it, Harmony Gold did, and because the Warhammer was featured they got sued, lost, and the reason that game never came out.

Sakura Taisen is a power armor game that the sequel turned into robots thoughever. It's actually pretty funny because the stuff in Shin was designed as power armor because the designer actually knew what they were doing and then the devs just scaled them up to make no sense. The Type 3 Koubu is like 50% bigger than the old Koubu it's supposed to be upgraded from.

And there's another mech game just announced today. I dunno, could be neat. I'm still super vindicated for saying AC6 would kick off a bunch of other mech games.

Finished the demo now. It's pretty good and I'll likely pick it up though it's releasing close to Lost Soul Aside which I'm also interested in.
