>i detached from the r9k thing, im planning on trying to go forward with a personal project ive had in my mind since i was much younger. its more of an RPG though, and im not sure what to make it in or if the story would be better linear or branching. I'm thinking of at least a good and bad ending but a way to implement that further than just losing a final battle is a bit harder to think of; im not sure what I would want failure to be based on. maybe a collection system of being liked or disliked which would partner with a party system which aids in battles.

I am curious though what kind of game are you thinking of? What kind of RPG? Got an outline for the story and artstyle? Made any sprites or assets?
I've been cooking up the architecture for a game I wanna make before I die its gonna be a jRPG/Fire Emblem clone but significantly different in terms of a few gameplay mechanics and I already have the story/chapters/main characters/support convos/dynamics mapped out in my head but the problem is that I suck at actual art ;-; also not an artist just an amateur though I did start messing around community assets on Unity. But for the scale of the game I want I probably would need to ask the corps for funding so I'm mostly thinking of just making a crazy good demo (1st chapter, first 3 chapters) so I can hawks to corps for funding and get an actual team together. Doesn't help I am fucking clueless about large scale game dev and aren't an artist by degree (I study physics) so idk how to organize something like that I do lurk a lot on /vg/-/adg/ and might buy Tynan Sylvester (RimWorld guy) since he was in a similar situation and made it big.
Maybe we can work together?
