There was a nazi mod. It was New Galactic Order and Aria:The Escalation. NGO was more of a post ww2 "What if Nazi Germany Won" style space faction, taking it straight and serious, whereas Aria: The Escalation was a WW1 German Empire style "spread and conquer people culturally because we're just that much better, btw eat our bratwurst". It was a lot less serious and political than NGO and more of a tongue in cheek fun mod with anime-war girls.

Certain popular mods in the Starsector mod list had game lists that checked for the presence of either and would either ctd your game or set all your relations to all factions to -100 if you had either installed. The comments in the code about those runtime exceptions were fucking unhinged too. Most of it had been scrubbed from the internet by now sadly. There was more, less harmful autism in that game, with mods affecting other mods because certain modders vehemently believed that particular modding factions added ships that were too powerful, so having two mods of a certain kind installed would result in the ships of the other being severely nerfed. It often led to reports that treated it as a bug instead of an "improvement", which only further bruised the egos of whoever had done it.

Fucker began adding his shitty art to a community patch that was supposed to fix base vanilla game bugs and started to get upset when people began to wonder what the fuck is going on. Then he moved on to changing gameplay balance, changing in-game locales and changing gear, spell and skill values.
