I took it more as Mythra unlearning her SWORD OF GOD tendencies. 500 years ago, she would just laser blast anything she didn't like unless Addam or Haze restrained her. Present day and Mythra has learned her lesson about how dangerous the orbital doom beam is, so she has to kind of figure out how to respond to irritants in a healthier way. Also the guilt of having the blood of a continent's worth of people on her hands creates a guilt that affects both personalities
