Here's the thing about the acting of guys like Arnold, John Wayne, etc: people write movies FOR THEM.
Characters are created specifically with them in mind. They're such big stars that they literally inspire the characters they apply, so how can they fail as actors when their job is simply to be themselves, or to maintain their on-screen persona?
That's why Arnold pretty much never seems like he's out of place in one of his own films, no matter how clumsily he may deliver a line.
