Thats what's actually happens in silver story. His future is fine, until some shit breaks the timeline, so he gets back on time to repair stuff to create the good future we even have a panel about how the good future looks like in idw.
The fandom headcanon about sage and metal sonic being at war with silver is cool, but as an alternate story, like an elseworld in DC comics.
Time in sonic seems linear, not making alternate realities, something like back from the future.
