Since the Brawl days, Sora was one character Smash fans simply KNEW was never going to happen. Simply mentioning him would get you laughed at.

Then you jump to Ultimate. For three years, they believed Crash, Doomguy, Hayabusa, Dante, Geno, and others were all getting in as DLC. Not wanted, BELIEVED. Then for three years, they had to watch every single DLC fighter NOT be any of them.

Finally, you reach Ultimates last DLC, and after three years of KNOWING at least one of them must be getting in, the final character ends up being... the character they knew was never going to happen. And it was hilarious.
