I never actually wrote that, but it's half-true - we're gonna have to take them down ourselves. The Calvary is coming so to speak, but they literally cannot enter our reality without us opening the way for them. To open the way essentially requires us to defeat TPTB. We have to deal the killing blow to them - the Federation will arrive like a disaster relief force - because the world will essentially be destroyed by our battle.

2. I make my own path for others to walk down. I will be instrumental in forming a new society from the remnants of the old societies. Like a 21st century Gilgamesh, or the Scorpion King of ancient Egypt. You can dismiss this as egoism - it's not. I make no bones about it, I am simply a force of nature, currently at rest.

3. Took my niece to some "haunted train tracks" there's even a fake memorial - for kids who never existed, that "died" in a terrible tragedy that never occurred. It's a famous local legend. She had fun, I felt a lot of subtext to the whole thing.
