I moreso just really don't like the traditional "time to say goodbye" ending that every single goddamn urban fantasy story has. I get the underlying point about how too much escapism is bad, but outside of the moral angle a lot of those endings just seem depressing. Like, you had adventures in this amazing other world, mae friends and whatnot, and then it's all gone and most likely you are the only one who knows and no one will believe you. It's like peaking in middle school.
