I was looking at No More Heroes 2 script that shows the original Japanese, a rough translation, and the finalized English script used in the game. The spoken English dialog adds more context and characterization. However for Japanese players, all the subtitles are taken straight from the original Japanese script that has none of the changes. So most of what's said won't completely match what the Japanese subtitles are showing. It reminds me a lot of how playing a game that's spoken in Japanese and the English subs won't line up what's said.
