Humans can go to the Digital World, and Digimon can manifest in the Real World. The rules can differ slightly from anime-to-anime, game-to-game.

I feel like it was fairly obvious that this was all gonna be played off as a gag no? Even when Purirun lost her memories all of the shit Meroron was doing then was being played for jokes. But I do hope that Merorons obsession for Purirun will be expanded upon and concluded later and they'll probably save that for near the end of the show, so just give it some time because if they don't do this then i'll be hating too lol
