It is. It's the type of reasoning they do where they are enabled to blame the victim for the problem they're suffering for so they can personally feel bad about not having that problem themselves.

They're convinced Not-Them is trying to get something out of them and they're on this aggressive defensive when Not-Them is simply trying to survive too. It's a shallow, scarcity-focused mentality from spoiled farts.
