I think it's kinda annoying when mappers put monster blocking lines places without any visual indication, maybe that's being authentic to the vanilla levels it takes influence from.

I'm gonna assume this is me. I do nearly every challenge, but it's not always effortless, hence why I missed the last one and might miss more. I think the last thread also went kinda fast due to the heretic/hexen release, but since you noticed, here's a nomo demo for map 31. Time is 30.83 seconds

My goal was anything under 31 seconds, which took a few hundred attempts, most of them under 10 seconds (I ended up binding restart to my mouse wheel). I've known how to SR50 for while, but grinding out this made me realize it's hard to actually benefit from that unless you're really good at fast and precise turning. It's given me an appreciation for movement based runs, but I could've told you beforehand that most of /vr/ wouldn't like it.
On the topic of last thread concerning dwindling challenge participation: when I was making challenges I was expecting people to get bored eventually, so I figured I'd just wait a few weeks if nobody replied one thread. So far that hasn't been necessary, but I think it's a sound strategy when you consider most have never really speedran at all. Secondly, I think most people prefer shorter/ easier/ visually unique maps, and so do I frequently.
