I’d argue filters are pretty essential now. There’s people who spam the same images or words over and over to the point that it actively makes the thread worse to navigate. For example I’m really fucking sick of Nick Fuentes and people blaming everything on groypers so every variation of those words is filtered now because no post discussing him or his zoomer retard army is worth reading anymore. Same with memeflags and certain images shills like to use in every thread. Once you seen it for the twelfth time you’re just wasting time reading it and it’s likely some bot posting it anyway.
