Hoo boy. I half remember what went wrong (I never actually read homosuck) but basically:
>Andrew Hussie announces a kickstarter campaign for the Homestuck Adventure Game in 2012
>It makes it's funding goal damn near instantly
>Andrew announces he finds a developer he trusts for the game and says the main comic is going in hiatus so he can write stuff for the game
>Also it's not actually a Homestuck game, it's a brand new ip fuck you
>The developer fucks him over and takes a huge amount of the money he had from the kickstarter
>They already blew most of the money on making stretch goal merch
>He panics and scrounges together a team to make the game in house

>Naturally the game fucking sucks and they scrap everything
>Time passes, Undertale comes out
>They scrap the game for a second time and move over to 2d
>The person they hired to program the game lied about being able to program

>The comic eventually ends and everyone hates the ending
>The game releases but nobody cares
