In fairness there's quite a few cool and decently advanced African kingdoms you can take inspiration from. Ethiopia, the Zulus, Makuria, etc. I agree with the basic sentiment though, it sucks that we don't have cool Fantasy Africa and instead just have black people in Fantasy Europe.
